Programs

  • For ALL Programs:
    • Did you check the Downloadable Forms tab to the left?  You must bring the appropriate Forms with you the first day of your Program.  These are IN ADDITION to on-line registration.  NO FORMS, NO ROW!

  • For Fall Season:
    • Check out the CALENDAR tab.  This has your Fall Parent Meeting, Regatta and Practice time info.  If you cannot commit to daily practice and the Regatta Schedule, please join in another season that suits your schedule better.
    • BEFORE REGISTERING:  Make sure you qualify for the team you have chosen.  Read the descriptions below carefully.  Because Crew is a physically and mentally demanding sport, not all 8th graders from Learn to Row are ready for the team.  If you are an 8th grader, have participated in Learn to Row, and are really interested in joining before high school, please contact the registrar (pmartin@pittsfordcrew.org).  She will have a list of 8th graders who the coaches feel are ready, and will give you the "go ahead" to register.
    • Don't forget to contact your physician about getting a copy of your athlete's LAST PHYSICAL dated AFTER 8/1/07.  Your physician may use our form or his/hers as long as it contains the same information.
    • IF we have too many registrants in any program, tryouts will be held the first week of practice.  Any athlete who does not make the team will have a full refund for tuition and merchandise ordered.
    • Don't forget to VOLUNTEER!  Click the Volunteer tab and check out all the fun jobs!

This is an opportunity for area high school students to learn the sport of rowing.  During the two-week session, rowers will learn safety procedures, rowing techniques on the ergometer, and will quickly progress to rowing on the water. Each session will be limited to 32 participants.

2008 will be our eighth summer of rowing instruction for youth on the Erie Canal.  This beginner program is open to all kids in the Rochester Area entering grades 8 - 12 next fall who have never before rowed.  Learn to Row is a safe, well-supervised place where kids can quickly experience the thrill of rowing.

We are also offering an advanced Learn to Row option for any one who did the Learn To Row program in a prior year but didn't continue into the Novice High School program.  They are eligible to take the Advanced Learn To Row option.  Advanced programs will run in the afternoon of sessions two and three.

Multiple two-week sessions are scheduled in Summer and sponsored by the Pittford Crew.  This is an experience of a lifetime, right here on the Erie Canal.  Registration is in the Spring for our Learn To Row program.  Sign up early to better ensure availability of a place in your first choice of sessions.
